Sarah, Lametta said someone at AGPNY told her Felicity would be restored and her items would be brought back so maybe if they will do this for Felicity, it might be possible they would do this for the rest of the girls. I know [img]smile.gif[/img] Maybe wishful thinking

Oh wow...oh wow...I was quite skeptical before, but hearing from the author herself is proof positive!! We are really, truly getting Elizabeth! *hums "Stars and Stripes"*

If they are going that far, they must be planning a full re-introduction of Lissie! I wouldn't count on the return of every retired item, but if they have chosen Elizabeth to be the next friend doll, then Lissie will have to be front and center just as Samantha is right now! [img]smile.gif[/img] She'll *have* to be in the catalogue! That alone would make me thrilled even if her other items didn't return.

I was so excited when I read the news that I ran to my room and put my Felicity in her riding habit. (she was still in her Halloween costume.) She's my 2nd oldest AG- I've had her since age 11. I do hope to see a Ruthie doll too one day, but until that day, Samantha makes a lovely substitute.

Wow! What a scoop! I wonder if this is American Girl's final attempt to really push the sales of Felicity items. She will have to be re-introduced into the catalog now!

I was really hesitant to let myself hope before - this is really a dream come true! I know some people are a bit skeptical of the friend doll idea, but I'm personally looking forward to Felicity having someone her size (and era) to use the other place setting at her table. [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

She told me that she gets to go back to Williamsburg and do more research and write about Felicity's time, and since Elizabeth is a shy person she has to bring her out of her shell a little.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What's her deal with shy charecters? All of her charecters, save Josefina, are outgoing. And alot of people said that Nellie was more outgoing than in Samantha's book.

And I know I'll be one of the first to buy Elizabeth...although I think there will be many other "firsts" here on this board!

I don't really understand this. Samantha didn't get accessories brought back with Nellie.

About thwe two year publishing date thing, a few considerations:
-Ms. Tripp could've been working on the book long before now
-The friend books have less illustrations than the normal books
-It takes less reserch to make a friend book
-Nellie was trademarked Oct. 8th 2003 and came out july 2004, Elizabeth was trademarked Sept. 14 2003
-2 years is the time it takes to make a full fledged historical.

I agree with Ann that is surprising that she would tell you about the book and the doll. It will be nice to have some Felicity things. I would like the green riding habit.
